The video, which has garnered approximately 13 million views, depicts this impressive ceremonial, executed with absolute precision and artistry by members of the elite Evzones unit of the Greek Army.
The guard consists of two Evzones, adorned in their traditional uniforms. Beyond the iconic fustanella with its 400 pleats symbolizing the 400 years of Ottoman rule, they wear shoes weighing over 3 kilograms, the soles of which boast at least 60 nails mimicking the sound of battle with each step of the guards. Each soldier stands for one hour and performs the change three times within 48 hours.
