The weather today is in line with the season, with sunshine across the country, apart from some afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains.
After Friday’s squall and chill, a further rise in temperature is expected today, Monday.
In the eastern mainland, the mercury will reach 37 and possibly 38 degrees locally, mainly in Thessaly, eastern Sterea, and the Peloponnese, but possibly also in Crete.
In Northern Greece, there will be temporary and very localized showers, without particular intensity or a large volume of water.
From Tuesday, the Meltemi winds return to the Aegean, reaching 6 and locally 7 on the Beaufort scale. From Wednesday until the end of the week, the northerly winds will strengthen even more, reaching 7 to 8 Beaufort and also affecting mainland areas.
Despite the strong winds, the temperature will remain at purely summer levels, with maximum values ranging from 36 to 37 degrees.
At the same time, a phenomenon that makes our lives difficult is also returning from today: African dust.
