Extreme conditions are prevailing in Greece at the end of July, with winds reaching 9 on the Beaufort scale. The meltemi winds, which increase the risk of fire, will continue on Friday, with the phenomenon expected to de-escalate from Saturday.
According to meteorological indications, a gradual rise in temperature will follow the subsidence of the meltemi winds.
From August 6 to 8, heatwave conditions are not ruled out, with maximum temperatures approaching or even exceeding the 40 degrees Celsius mark, although no extreme values are currently foreseen.
