The "World's 50 Beaches" group has released its annual list of the 50 best beaches in the world for 2024.
This list has been published every year since 2017 and this year it was curated by a panel of 750 journalists, bloggers, editors, influencers, and travel agencies, all with extensive experience in traveling worldwide.
As evident, two major winners emerged. The first major winner was Australia, which not only claimed the top spot but also secured a total of four positions on the list, including two spots in the top five.
The second major winner was the cluster of tropical islands in the Caribbean, which collectively appeared five times in the ranking.
As for Greece, three beaches made it onto the list: Navagio in the island of Zakynthos (9th place), Myrtos in the island of Kefalonia (32nd place), and Balos in Crete (44th place). It's worth noting that Navagio also appeared in a relevant ranking by Atlas, while two other beaches in Mykonos were also mentioned.

While according to the "World's 50 Beaches" group, this list is the most "comprehensive one available," with the 750 judges possessing "unlimited travel wisdom," it's worth mentioning that the Greek beaches featured in this ranking are among the most well-known and touristic in the country. Perhaps if the judges had been more acquainted with Greece, they might have discovered some of its more "hidden" gems, both on the Aegean islands and in the mainland.
Nevertheless, Lucky Beach in Western Australia, crowned as the best beach on the planet, is indeed exceptionally beautiful.
Take a look at the photos below showcasing Lucky Beach, before diving into the ranking of the 50 best beaches in the world:
